Hi,

Normally when designing fictional courses will take real holes and put them on the course, than will mutate it a bit to fit the design. Found an old TCA file which was a messed up course from 2005 or 2006, exported the shapes to a new layout and decided to basically design Royal Orleans II, except for the fact that this course will play much harder. Was watching the 91 US Open on Betamax and at that time (1991) they just redesigned the 16th hole at Hazeltine National Golf Club. Was like ok, this would be a cool hole to put on this course. Because of the hole it created the next hole a par 3 over water, which is similar to #17 at Kiawah, that was not an influence on the hole, it was just what fit the layout.

Here is the deal, pick a hole any hole in the world, par 3, par 4, or even a par 5 and I will put it on this course and show updates of the design. No idea how many people if any will reply but will look at all comments, however if the 1st post gives a really neat hole may just go with that...So reply fast.....

Here is another pic of 16th hole from Hazeltine National, which was put in to this design.

Here is the tee shot and entire hole thus far via the overhead view.

So I added like 4 bunkers to the hole, and a few bunkers in the weeds and took some trees out, moved the hole from Minnesota to South Carolina. Other than that it is core design copy of #16.

Here is the back round on this course, it was designed to be located in the French Alp. It had massive elevation changes, so massive that the pano would flip. Did the course 1500 x 1500, didnt have enough room for 18 holes with out holes getting close to the boarder. Completed like 9 or 10 holes on the course, just knew it would never work, but it was wild. About 2 weeks ago went back and tried to create a few more holes. Some of the holes were pretty good, and it was just a shame that course could never be completed.

Took the holes out of the layout cause wanted to use them, and knew that I would have to create 6 to 10 new holes for the course. Did the 1st hole which was hole #7 on the real design. Than wanted a lot of water on this course, so just by random with no thinking designed this hole. It is kind of like right now, when I have a 4 foot putt and start thinking on how the hell am I going to stroke this, miss every time, but when you do it natural you never miss. This hole is amazing again no idea what I was thinking just drawing shapes.

Needless to say thus far most of the other holes are like that 4 footer; they just dont work. The good news is unlike Golf in computer designing you get as many mulligans as you need.

Here is the 2nd hole on the course.

Here is the 2nd shot in to the 2nd hole, this is all natural, didnt move a lot of terrain or anything just kind of created this....

Keep in mind it is really hard to work with water, cause the water needs to be flat, so this hole and hole 7, which is the Hazeltine Hole, wanted both holes to have elevation to them, which creates uneven banks to the water area. When you do water holes most of the time they are pretty flat around the water area. Creating elevation shifts while working with water was really the key to both holes. Somehow it needed to be pulled off in order to get these holes to work.

No replies to this free request? thus far the back 9 on this course is a complete failure, no matter what I have tried, can''t get any good holes on the 9. Pretty much have the front 9 font complete and basically deleting holes on the back and trying it again.........

Not really sure what you want people to say. 99% of the players don't /can't design courses and probably can't have a salient conversation with you about it. Everyone is going to more so passively observe. There's only a handful of you creative geniuses with this stuff and the rest just marvel at it.
