| I decided I''d like to get back to making courses, and as my old XP computer bit the dust has long since bit the dust, i bought a used dual boot (Win 10 and Win XP) PC. I installed TW08 and TW06 on XP. They both ran fine, so I downloaded the course architect and it also worked. I have been able to make a start on a course and it''s going well. Now the bad stuff. Apparently TWcaddy won''t work on XP, and I need to download and install libraries. Pat (Gunpower61) has been trying to help me (many thanks for that) but so far with no success. I installed CLSetup which after a frustrating hour or two I eventually managed to point in the right direction. It seemed to recognise the files I had downloaded, but when I tried to install them, the programme just hung. I tried to do them one at a time with the same result. It has been suggested that I run CLSetup as administrator, but that isn''t an option in XP. This is frustrating as the CA is working fine and I can create and compile courses, but without libraries its a bit useless. I could install the CA on the Windows 10 part of the PC, or on my main PC, but I would have to move the course file to the XP part to compile it, and it wont recognise the libraries. |

| Progress, I reinstalled the CLSetup and this time it installed the libraries I downloaded. It installed them into the TW08 folder. Now I need to work out how to make them available for the CA. |

A little confused by your post. TWCaddie was only for 08 I thought. I''m not clear on whether you''re having trouble instaling stuff into 06 or 08, or both.
First question. Are you certain you''ve downloaded the right version of TWCaddie? I''m sure you''ve already done this but the wrong version for your system won''t work. Have you tried both versions?
Another thing is checking to make sure that the files you''re trying to install aren''t set to ''read-only''. It is unlikely that they would be read-only but you never know.
You said you''re using clsetup to install libraries, I assumed you mean into 06? If so, have you tried just using the course utilities program that TW06 came with. I''ve always just used that to install things in 06. We needed a special installer for 08 because it didn''t come with one, but 06 had it''s own...
Sorry if all this has been covered already.
Edit: This was a reply to the first post.
Also, if you were just having trouble with TW08, you could always have just installed TW08 on the Windows 10 part of your computer and TW06 on the XP part. You might have had an easier time with TW08 on Windows 10. Then you just work and compile on the XP part, and then take the compiled course file over to your Win10 part to install and play/test in Win10. |

| Thanks for reply Quietly, I did think about putting TW08 on the Win 10 partition and swapping it over to the XP partition to compile, but I think maybe I would need the libraries used on both partitions. Both TW06 and TW08 are running fine on XP atm, as is the course architect. The architect has only the TW06 libraries available so I downloaded some others to see if I could install them. After some trial and error I managed to get CLSetup working and installed them. They installed to TW08 (which is fine) but I also need to install them to TW06. I have searched for library files in TW06 but I can't find out where they are installed so I haven't been able to install the new ones. I hope this makes sense. |

Neil. are you using clsetup for 06 to load your libraries into TW 2006, its in the 2006 utilities.
You will also need cl tool for 06, the CA will let you have just so many libraries installed.
You need to put 2008 courses into TW 2006 for the CA to see them, to get your 2008 trees
and textures. |

You can install the library files anywhere you want. I personally just make a new folder inside the main Tiger Woods 06 folder labelled New Libraries.
As I mentioned before, I use the 06 course utilities program that comes with the game. Just open that, locate wherever you put the libraries initially on your computer, and then set the destination as the New Libraries folder inside the TW06 folder. All done
The libraries should be available in the architect. |

More Progress, I missed the part in Quietly's earlier post about using the 06 course utility program. That was the key. I've got 100's of libraries on old PC's and hard disks. Its a long job but hey-ho. Unfortunately they all have their own folders with one file in each that has to be taken out before I install it, but at least I have a workable solution. Now i need to work out how to play the part course I have in the CA.

Hiya Neil,
To test the part course you created in CA06:
Compile your course, and then you can install the compiled course ( + required libraries ) in TW08.
Normally the compiled course file is created in the same loacation where your course architect file is located.
To install the compiled course in TW08 you will have to use CLSetup08 or TWCaddie08.
Note: Its also possibble to test your compiled course in TW06, then you have to install it with Course Utilities06 or CLsetup06
But when you test your compiled course in TW06 then your Pano can look a bit strange, since the Panos for TW08 and TW06 are different format.

| Cheers Pat, that is next on my list (Hopefully tonight sometime) as soon as I get my libraries sorted. I have hundreds scattered all over the place on 4 different drives that I've used over the years. Hopefully with a dedicated PC for Tiger Woods, I can get all my TW stuff together and properly organised. I don't use panos on my courses btw, so that part shouldn't effect me. |

All is good :). Next question though. I used to be able to view the underlying mesh when creating a course. I don't see the option to view that.

It was a keyboard shortcut: Ctrl-Alt-T
I came back to designing for TW a few years ago and had some of the same problems trying to remember some of the shortcuts. I knew the wire mesh was a key combo but I couldn't remember which one so I just sat here and hit every combo until I found it. I knew it was ctrl-alt something or ctrl-shft something but I didn't know the letter. I just started hitting every combo until I found it. |
