I am having trouble creating these three things for my course. I read through the tutorial several times and it appears that you need to have photoshop. Is this true? Basically I am looking for a simplified explination on making the splash, logo, and flag.

Thanks!

check the utilities section for 2008 - tutorials
jeff has a few there
http://www.coursedownloads.com/extras/category.asp?id=13&gameid=11

photoshop is good as is paint.net (;free), and gimp (;free - open source)

any graphics program that handles .dds file basically

the simplified method is open an existing one and paste your image/text over it as the top layer

I downloaded paint.net. I don't know what that program was but it really messed up my computer.

You have to install the logo + splash + flag in TW08 with TWCaddie08.
Put your coursefile(tcr) + logo + splash + flag in a zipfile, and install the zipfile in TW08 with TWCaddie08.

I got everything to appear in the game but with one hitch; the splash is smushed towards the top of the screen and there is a blank white box between it and the course description. I double checked my splash creation and I did everything according to the steps. Hes this problem occured with any of your courses?

Thanks.

no, something is wrong there - the splash is the wrong size

if you zip the splash.tga file and attach it - be easier to trouble shoot it and send it back

Fixed.

Not sure why the alpha channel was not working, but I brought your image into the Photoshop template I use and resaved it.

that is because of your game settings...i forget which one it is, but your set too low on one of the settings and that is the issue I believe...could be the lib you used too, but i bet on the setting

Is it a setting with in the game or on my system? One of the libraries im using is the Ts_n_stakes library, it for 04 but ive seen it used on a lot of 08 courses. Bottom line as long as it will work on everyone elses computer, it doesn't bother me if it doesnt on mine.

If your Shader Level is set to medium or higher, that lib will appear dark. You must set your Shader Level to low in order to see the colored markers..:)
